The Therapy - Problems and Solutions at The Bodywork and Movement Center Who needs this form therapy? The people who will most benefit from this therapy are likely to have a long-standing or recurring problem, or problems, involving aches, pains, stiffness, poor range of movement, weakness, clumsiness, poor balance, inefficient gait or premature ‘wear and tear’ patterns. People with specific pain problems Headache, migraine, temporamandiblur dysfunction (TMD) and ringing in the ear Neck pain, whiplash associated disorders (WAD) and torticolis or wry neck Frozen shoulder, thoracic inlet syndrome, rounded shoulders Tennis and golfers elbow, carpal tunnel and other arm syndromes Back pain, scoliosis, hyperlordosis, flat back Pelvic pain, SI joint or coccyx pain Hip stiffness, sciatica, IT band syndrome Leg and knee pain, patello-femoral syndrome, shin splints Ankle and foot pain, achilles tendinosis, plantar fasciitis

Try these self-tests of optimal function Fully squat on your haunches with your heels remaining flat Sit cross-legged on the floor Touch your toes Perform a full contact wall angel with your back flat against the wall Touch your fingertips behind your back with one arm up and the other one arm under, on both sides

Each client will experience a synthesis of the following safe and effective modalities: Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) NMT is an anatomically specific form of bodywork that addresses 4 main components of dysfunction Muscular tension, spasm, imbalance and asymmetry Trigger point induced pain Nerve entrapment by soft tissue Postural distortion for various reasons
NMT also addresses the following important factors: Nutritional health Psychosocial balance General flexibility and fitness levels
Neuromuscular Stretch Therapy (NMST) NMST is a personalized flexibility therapy addressing only the joint ranges found to be dysfunctional. An assessment of individual muscle length tests (MLT) to ascertain imbalance and asymmetry Appropriate corrective stretch in the form of assisted Active isolated Stretch (AIS) and other assisted stretch techniques Appropriate homecare stretches for maintenance
Neuromuscular Exercise Therapy (NMET) NMST is a personalized corrective exercise therapy addressing weakened or inhibited muscles leading to imbalance and asymmetry. - An overall assessment of personal function followed by needs analysis and a sustainable exercise regimen.

Personalized training These highly specific trainings are designed to rehabilitate, maintain and improve functionality.
